ecSRO Error Directx9

Yeah, I just got my computer working. It has windows vista ultimate(Not a genuine copy :D). When I re-installed ecsro and put new pk2 in, It says

Directx9 is not installed. you need a version later than directx 9.0b

And When I try and install Direct x 9.0c, It says it already has a version higher.


(I HAVE NEVER USED VISTA ULTIMATE ON THIS COMPUTER BEFORE)

Argh, I neeed help! :(

sro launcher -> properties -> compatibility -> windows xp or something like that... i havent vista...
