[IDEA]Improvements to the section!

Okay, what about making 1-2 subforums? So there would be a General Discussion part, a Newbie Area, and an Advanced/Intermediate area?

So in the General Discussion we would talk about anything related to CO Private Server Developement, In the Newbie Area we`d post releases/guides specifically for newcomers, and at the advanced section talk about stabilty improvements, new methods, packet trading maybe?

Just think about it. Much less annoying people rushing!

There'd be nobody to take part in the Advanced/Intermediate area. It'd be a redundant forum. :|

I`m pretty sure that several people would love to trade packets at a certain section :P
11/14/2008 21:13 unknownone#4
Yeah, they usually come to my forum :p

PM me the link then please :P

Most people that are "adavance" talk on msn together and then team view to help each other out.

Valk,that was my idea,lol.. Well,anyways,instead of adding new section,limit sections instead,like this:

Keep this forum part, for those who want to keep releasing and shit. Then,we should create an forum where only a few people are accessed to,the real coders, which wouldnt leach, simply use the code or whatever, who actually want to learn from it. Some examples of those people could be:

Haydz
InfamousNoone
Me ( Emme )
Kinshi
Justin(lostsolder)
TAO <<<<<---
adz
Taguro
xprice
Rechoto
Bisiol
Tanelipe ( if he code pservers )
Future ( same as above )

I could go on and on..

Well, the reason for this, that section wouldnt flood of noobs, leachers etc. Also, we should only let in people that you can trust on, and we should have some people that got a good looking at people at epvp,so we dont accept wrong people in the section. Those who are in the group can also recommend other, doesnt really matter if they can code, only if they want to learn ( example : Valkmax, cannot code that good, but really wants to ). It would keep the real coders in a group, help eachother and talk about coding, coding only. And we would skip all those flames ( flames are because you get sick of an dumb thread, such as asking for an release, not help ) , server releasing, 90% of help threads, actually being able to release something to the >community<. By community I mean the real deal, the real people. If e*pvp called all the leachers and noobs a community,I would really be ashamed that I look at this forum daily..

So,what you think about it?

That is basically what Underground section is for, however it isn't just private server related. We actually need more people there, it's dying; Random posts once or twice a week there.

I highly doubt that there will be another section for CO though, there are plenty already. :P (Not sure how Lowfyr would like if we requested for one more, haha)

I would like it, but I don't know if it would happen. If it does that be really good I think.

Thanks for adding me emme.
Big thanks #08.

It's a good idea, to have sortof an UG for PServers, but there's really no one who would deserve to be in there that would want to be there.(AKA no on in this section is really that pro, and the people that are either don't like epvp/don't want to make a server./don't really need a forum for it.)

Sorry tao for not adding you,I just forgot you,so sorry =P Your added now,

Would just like to say , Tane doesn't really code private servers but has previously and recently attempted, unsure what happened with that. But tane's skills are majorly underestimated.

Ok. This has been requested in the past, many times, and has been attempted a number of times, and always failed.

Firstly, there was Lvl2, which is german-speaking only, private information. The problem with this forum is nobody has access (or is granted it without substantial contribution).

So, Lowfyr set up Lvl2*International, a forum where developers could prove their skills before being put into the Lvl2 forum. Unfortunately, the forum wasn't managed, and nobody new could enter without invite. Invites were pretty strict, because I never got one.

Ultima began a Co.Dev forum, which suffered the same fate. Nobody other than the initial members could join without PMing Ultima, and the forum was pretty much forgotten after the initial mention of it. Ended up with only a few members, and discussions didn't last.

Lowfyr made a Co.Pserver.Dev forum at the request of Ultimation (ultimatehaker). This was back when Qonquer was the only P.server in development, and UH wanted to make his own. Only a handful of people got into this forum again, but it died a short death when nobody could be bothered putting information in it, because most of the people in there were in contact over MSN anyway. That forum died the same, no new members, no new posts.

That was all a number of years ago. The story could be different now, because the vBulletin version in use allows for easy group joining/managing by members through their CP. If Lowfyr were to put some reasonable persons in charge of it, it could work. I've noticed that requests for such forums and moderators around here are usually very slow to get going.

Anyway, as I mentioned previously in this thread. I have a forum that is properly managed, and has worthwhile content. Alot more talented members than you see here (well, most of the talented people here already know of it.) We started this forum a few years ago when the epvp higher-ups refused to manage the co sections properly, and not much has changed since.

Anyway, I don't want it to die the same death. It's kinda dead now, other than occasional posts, but it's still properly managed. There's a wiki for collaborating information, and requests for new forums and moderations aren't out of the question. If you are coding, and would like somewhere else to go, ask around for an invite. If you try join, make sure you include your name here & who invited you so we can acceot you into the forum.
