Personally I thought the first CO Future source was a good starting source; it's easy to handle, and doesn't have too many bugs. The reason every runs for LOTF is the amount of features, but it lacks stability....

LOTF <-- HELL NO!

heres what you want to start off with,

Hadeset V 1.0
Samehvan V 1.0
Samehvan Team Rev1-4,A-C
(When im done, KoS Public Source V 1.0)

these there base source are perfect for anyone to start off on, I have copies of each one about 23 times where i edited, worked on, made up, tested, my own coding... Some worked, some didnt... a lot didnt but w.e a work in progress.

If you're smart like me, then i suggest start doing random stuff with the codes (random SMART things, like trying to copy one line with a different goal) and then start reading the basics.

if thats not your style, then simply find a C# programming guide (Yahoo, Google, Dogpile "C# Programming Guides" or something) and read them, theres a guide made by the actual developers of Visual C# 2008 on some site that has "MDSN" or something like that in it. Look for it.

well i tried with a quite stable source (that isn't public ) and made some npcs quest items(items that were in the source but not used )its lotf based but i'm interested in the kos source

If you ask me, I would modify the CoFuture source to work with 5017, then work with that. It ain`t that hard and it is a good starting point
11/06/2008 20:39 ~jochemke~#9
well i think kerbel doesn't know how to do that maybe u should tell him xD
11/06/2008 20:40 KraHen#10
At least try. A hint - use an 5017 source as reference

The KoS Source is only the new modified version of Samehvan (the updated version of Hadeset v 1.0)

so dont expect anything super new lol, like i said the one that i will release, the public one, will be everything i can get in the source CO related, as for anything i wish to have in my PS (only because im using a CO PS to increase the graphics of my old online game...) i most likely wont release.

In this, i really only want the team im putting together in december to help only with the public source, although hey im not gona say dont help me with the KoS Private Source. Go figure right? lol

better question, does that seem fair?
(also keep in mind, im not the best coder so dont expect uber greatness right off the back, give me time to learn and get better, thanks =3)

Oh I had a source like that. Ain`t that game called Dark Apocalypse Online? If you ask me you shouldn`t do it in CO but it`s only my opinion, due to legal stuff. Anyways, it`s still a cool idea to transform the game

You dont want to use anything written by hadeset since none of it is stable. I wrote the cofuture source to be as simple to follow and upgrade as possible, and many people have found it to be just that. So i would suggest the original cofuture source, not a repack or the enhanced one.

I found that one really easy to work with a while ago.. Easy to "script" npcs in the .ini file, and it actually was coded decently... I had some problems with the spawn packet, but any decent coder can fix it.
