How Do I Edit The Modes?

03/13/2012 18:08 InigoFox#1
hello friends! i wanna know how to edit the modes in a shaiya server. For example, we have easy, normal, hard and ultimate modes as default right? i want to change all to UM mode but with some diferences:

1- easy mode stay as it is ( no changes here)
2- normal mode goes to lvl 15 UM
3- hard mode goes to lvl 30 UM
4- UM mode stays as it is (no changes here too)
5- 9 points each level to all modes (less easy mode)

i hope someone helps me plis and a big ty already to those that do. :)

Just edit it like that and make new buttons with photoshop and add them to your client :)

Hmm, now there is a familiar idea. I do believe I have files already configured for that exact idea. The question is, what exactly did I do with them...

well now the problem is to prevent them from leveling to 16+ and 31+. i already did the configurations i wanted to put lvl 15 UM in normal mode and lvl 30 UM in hard mode. But they still can level more and i don't want that so any ideas how i stop them from leveling? XD

just remove the EXP from all mobs

Code:
UPDATE PS_GameDefs.dbo.Mobs set Exp = 0
or something like that

€: grr taZ was faster.

wouldn't that remove exp to the other modes? :S

for those who didn't understood yet what i need. in easy mode i have no changes because i no need to change nothing. Normal mode is now LVL 15 ultimate mode already created toons ( here i don't wan't them to level more). Hard mode is now LVL 30 ultimate mode already created toons ( here i don't want them to level more too). Ultimate mode i have no changes here because i want them to level till 80 normaly here and that is why i need all moobs exp here. i hope u guys understood now and big ty for help u guys gave me already and (i hope) will give me :)

You could always going into PS_GameDefs.dbo.ExpDefs and set the experience for levels 15 and 30 to outrageous numbers so the players will not level out of the zones, secondly, you can remove the experience from the monsters in the zones. Someone posted a query for it and I am too lazy to search for it, that's your job.

Tyler

To accommodate the high amount of experience to surpass levels 15 and 30, you can have monsters with set experience at -1, which is the max, for the maximum experience possible they can gain for the 'Ultimate Mode leveling experience.'

Or refer to the expdefs for easy mode and see how it stops it from leveling past 30

or just change the needed exp for levels? like lv15-16 you need some bil exp, like on lv30-31
then they can level higher but it will takes some days/weeks

PS: i saw it in the DB but i can't remember where :/

My point was that by changing the ExpDefs to simply not progress past a certain level for a specific mode, the concern of them leveling past it is negated entirely.

ExpDefs defines the needed exp to level not only by level, but also by mode. When one is customizing modes to only be for specific levels, this is a very easy task to manage.
