Authenticator troubles

Hi
I lost my phone that had my authenticator app on it. I have tried to have it removed from the account so that I can set up a new one but because my passport has expired they won't let me. I rang the EU support and he told me to get a new passport (£90) or there was nothing he could do.

Can anyone tell me, does this mean that over 6 years of playing [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] has gone? It's really frustrating, I spent 2 days trying to get help and you can't get hold of support at Blizzard without the authenticator code "aaaargggghhhh

Then make a new passport where's your problem?
