Ok guys this is my first post here so take it easy on me :P Not to flame others who are only trying to help but most of the guides I have seen say something like step1. aim at the feet step2. go pwn some noobs...lol so i decided to write a guide of some of the basic strategies and tips i have learned from FB/SS
First subject : Syncronising Jumps
You want to try and syncronize your jumps so that you and your opponent land at the same time and fire before they land ( i will discuss this in more detail later )
If you are trying to avoid being hit you un-syncronize and jump to the sides and away, as to stay out of range. Never jump directly over their head, this makes it very easy for them to guess where ur going to land thus increasing the chances you will be hit. You also want to mix up the length of ur jumps randomly from short to long jumps.
Second Subject: Server side vs. Client Side
Ok, the server pre-determines where you will land when you jump before you see it on your screen. So, if you aim and hit that spot when the server side application places your enemy there he will recieve a hit from you even though he has not landed there on his screen yet. This is due to the lag time between the server and their client. On his screen he will see himself jump again then teleport back to that spot if he dies or he will see the dmg hit him as he is in the air on his second jump if you cannot one hit them. It will also show you teleport as you attack. ( this is where alot of people think you are using speed )
Third Subject: Where to aim
You want the SS or FB to pass directly though the enemy's shadow( even if you hit just the edge of there shadow you will hit them). Now, if you aim directly at the shadow you will have a very small area in which you must hit if you aim past the shadow there is a much greater area to aim for and your SS or FB will still pass through their shadow.
While you are both in the air you want to estimate where the shadow will land and fire just past it.
Fourth Subject : Cornering or Follow Trick
As you are jumping around with the enemy, get him to chase you around. when he jumps one way you jump the other way off his screen. and stop, when he jumps toward you to attack/find you he will appear standing still for a split second on your screen. As soon as you see him appear, jump and fire a shot at his feet. He will recieve a hit and to him it will seem as though he landed, jumped then died in the air. This also works if you jump off screen into a corner such as the corner of the Pk Arena.
Beyond that you just have to practice and you will be hitting alot more.
