Its possible do a Ddos Atack to a private server using linux?

hi, my friend ask my if its possible do a Ddos atack to a metin2 server on linux
and gameforge can ban server beacause its free and its do on linux and dont have Rights Reserved.And metin2 its create by a university studant.
