[Guide]Adding Npcs

Ok heres a simple guide on how to add npcs into the database.its very simple(theres a video at the end)


Step 1: Go to the npcs table in the database.Click Browse,And sort by uid and find the last number and add1 and also write this down.


Step 2: Go back to the beggining of your npc table.Click insert.Ok now type in the number your wrote down in the UID table.(Note there will be a pic when we click save at the end.)

Step 3: The type is what people have trouble with.The type is what the npcs look like.To find it know the name of your favorite looking npc and use the type number of it.Ex my favorite is type 120.

Step 4: Name(is the name of the npc)Enter it after name.

Step 5: Flags set them to 2

Step 5: Direction you want the npc to be facing.Ill put 0(If you want to know the others ask here.)

Step 6: Coords(Go to where you want the npc to be ingame and the coords are at the top of the screen.)If you dont know which one is which its (x,y)The first value goes into Xspot and the second value goes into the Yspot.

Step 7: Map(This is the map id)On some databases you might have to type out the name of the place.Otherwise,use the id number(yes i will include a list)

Step 8: If you have a sub type leave it blank.If you dont your Finished

Not sure if this is the right section but im putting it in pservers because it concerns them.PLEASE DONT POST ANYMORE TOPICS ON HOW TO MAKE NPCS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GUIDE.

yea... i got like the same problem... where i did ur guide n made the npc, n i got the codes in the client.cs, the npc wont talk n just stand there....:rtfm:

make sure you build it, and run it... and make sure nothing is left open like } is missing it might not like it , make sure you put it in the correct spot

you guys do realise this is an old thread and there is bound to be a mistake.....Try using Infamous`s source instead of LOTF

hey all im just saying , im going to release a video for this because he didn't yet and also ( text guide ) , with that how to make the npc actually do something ( such as trade items or give items w.e ) ( also in text) if you want to do this earlier than me be free to do it but i might end up doing it

If it shows an error about Microsoft.Build.Framework not being the same one installed on your computer, your app.config is incorrect. Unfortunately, you cant edit it, so you will have to reinstall C# and try again =/
