#moved X_X use the PRIVATE SERVER section guys... it's not that hard.

If you're just starting a server then you really should save some money and go with a lower end hosting solution until you have a proper player base. Conquer private servers are fairly dead so spending 100+ usd per month on a server that has like 50 players is kinda a waste of cash. You could host the exact same thing perfectly fine using a 20-30/mo vps.

Thanks. But i wanted to get one so i stop having the problems with trying to play it on hamachi. I can not get it running because every one of the servers and sources i have tryed go to the loading screen and stop. i belive it will not run on my 64 bit computer so i figured it would work better on a dedi

Sorry just a bit of a side track here...

VPS = Virtual Private Server. Uses hardware/software visualization technology to allow a single physical server to act as multiple logical servers. This allows companies to split up powerful servers into smaller virtual servers and resell them to customers. Because of this you can get a fairly low end server for quite a low price and avoid the complications and expenses of purchasing a dedicated server. The drawback being that depending on the company's policy, you may experience drain from other users on the box during peak hours. Your files and everything are of course all completely separate and accessible at any time through a remote desktop application.

Price range 10usd+ (in general. I'm not talking about 1998 machines turned into shitty linux boxes here). For a copserver you're prob looking at the packages around 20 bux a month which is quite reasonable for a small server starting out.

Dedicated Server: in this case you are renting a physical server. You're the only person using the machine and it's on a dedicated connection so you don't need to worry about other users draining system resources and in many cases you will experience far greater performance using a dedicated box. The drawback of course being price because unlike with a vps, it's one server per customer rather then god knows how many virtual servers being hosted per box (some companies say how many they use... most do not).

Price Range: Generally 100 usd+. You can get cheaper ones but then the stats start to be realllyy shitty and you may as well use a vps then. Personally I have a dedicated server that works FANTASTICALLY for all my hosting needs (wish I had more use for it) and it costs me around 120 per month from iWeb when all said and done.

</long useless post>

And yes, either option should work perfectly well to host your server with and will of course not require anything like hamachi to make it work.

Ok now i understand a lil better. But the problem is will the source and client work on both because i can not get it to work on my computer

assuming you purchase windows hosting and you set up the source you decide to use then yes it should work just fine.

What exactly isn't working on your computer? Just that you have to use hamachi right now or is it that you are unable to setup the actual source? Basically all public sources on epvp do work it's just a matter of setting them up correctly and that issue most likely won't magically fix itself by buying a vps/dedi unless ofcourse it's just that you haven't downloaded the required frameworks and such.
