In short, I can't even get to the log in screen (or past the NX tune/logo). I assume this is related to the thread protection activation (click me at pleione). According to what I saw at..."dedrain" there's a magic moment where you can click and the doors to the magic chocolate factory will open.

Aside from that i took a clean mabi and dumped in harrybong1's then MiniDz's gifts (along with the omgah.rar bundle). My choice there was MiniDz's didn't actually have pake.dll sitting outside and i assumed that was a prefereable thing.

I set MNG with threadprotect 2 and with either novichok or hackslash loaded in. For the time being i'm trying to get in without loading any mods.

My issue is that, generally, after NX tune and logo i'm observing a freeze resolving itself with our favorite mabi crash window with one of these: ESL_EXCPT_CODE_TERMINATE()

I've used MNG before (though fairly farther in the past) and that's not one of the two errors i'd expect to see. In my blind downloading I have become somewhat wary of having both JAP and MNG, but didn't see much help when disabling JAP functions.

Am I still missing something, will I need to trim down, or did I neglect a setting?
Or for whatever reason i'm trying too hard without realizing that....patches change things...and we just had one...

pake.dll is a necessity. My files are outdated, you need a new client.exe.

I suppose i was good on that part, but that's why I further replaced your files with MiniDz's. Particularly her client and hackshield folder. unless you mean i'm gonna need a newer new client

Apologies and thanks for that, I don't like always referring to people as "him" but it's not exactly easy to guess.

after some...disabling, it appears to be the Tiara (or at least, using the data folder etc) that's causing my exception error. I can QQ more about that some other time though. I'm running on bare minumum MNG, no mods loaded via pake, and i'm getting this 0xe9040018 HS error when clicking the login button. I got no hits searching the error, but i found the log viewer and

go into package and unpack the new files and put them in your data folder.

harrybong i disabled anything involving use of the data folder, which is also now empty. I'm trying to figure out why i get that particular hshield detection when clicking "start game"

IKR. i solved that part by not using the data folder, which as harry suggests i probably didn't do anything to use it correctly anyway (last i tried mods we had to do this pack/unpack crap)

i suppose, but then i would have never actually ventured into those .ini files and like.....read them. things not working is how you learn and discover =D

I am stuck though, on that shield error, and i do not know how to go about diving in to find what it is
