Can't connect to game server. Read First.

*Failed to connect to server!!!*

Its the same problem others are having or have had. I have changed the IPs, checked 100000x, went over things.

I have read on these forums, different threads, searches, installed 3x from scratch using omegas tutorials.

i have yet to find a solution. what i have been looking for though is what all the ini files should look like correctly using all the defaults with 127.0.0.1 as the IP.

Here is my logs just incase im too newb at this server thing and am overlooking something. and yes i have checked all DB's they are there, everything seems to be in place.

DBAGENT_system.log

GAME_system.log

GAMELOG_system.log

LOGIN_system.log

SESSION_system.log

USERLOG_system.log

like i said ive done EVERYTHING here in every thread i've searched for and having came up with a possible solution, even reinstalling from scratch.

Try disable gamewar in the server patch config.
make sure you are /nprotect off under Game
and /vchkoff under Login in your server patch config.

Check your ini IP's to see if they are actually correct.
Check your game.exe IP to see if that is actually correct.
Check your Firewall to see if it is trying to block your client
Check your firewall for the exceptions 30800 and 30810 (they need to be allowed)

If it still doesnt work, post your ini files with clean logs.

i completely disabled my firewall since its just a test server. but i didnt do anything for ports ill go try that now and see if its a fix. thanks. ill post my ini files if it isnt a solution.

*edit : if i find my ip address with IPv4 and its 10.0.0.2 can i still use 127.0.0.1? or do i have to make everything 10.0.0.2?

127.0.0.1 is local (you're computer only) meaning it will always be able to connect if the IP's in your ini's are local, and the IP in your game.exe is local aswell.

But looking at your logs the major thing i see missing is the /nprotectoff and /vchkoff

i used the /nprotectoff and /vchkoff. everytime i start up the server i should use these commands?

had to go through NSS. god that thing is annoying.. i hate norton with a passion. but managed. and still nothing changed so ill post my ini files here. ive done so much to them they are probably a big jumbled mess now. lol.


well now im getting error connection .. so i guess i should redownload the files or get new ini files. but here is what mine look like atm.

and yes my game.exe file is 127.0.0.1 with the nulls in. i made sure of that. actually reinstalled 3x just to make sure i had it done right.

ok done. and thats my gamewar.ini btw. i dont have to restart the server everytime i make a change to one of the files in a folder do i?


same thing. "time over, failed to connect to server"


i believe the problem is in my ini files but i have no idea what it could be. i followed omega's tutorials exactly the way they were. and he just got right on. i cant get past the server select screen -.-

*problem solved* after maybe an hour or so with viper on teamviewer.. we just couldnt get it to work. so i deleted EVERYTHING.. and reinstalled server/sql just like in the tutorials by omega.. except this time after everything was done i just simply went into the client folder and edited the IP in the game.ini file then into the server folder to the config files and edited my IP in there. and boom it worked.
