[Help] Hex editing

hey all,
i have two requests here

how do i hex edit the shop.dat file (not sure on what line to put it in.ect)
How to hex edit in items such as pets into the itemtype.dat file ( i have looked at using the itemtype editor but it dosnt work right for me)
