C9 Error Client CAUSE

Good Evening!

So as most of you have discovered many of you will get C9 error trying to connect to your server outside of your lan network regardless of what LAN IP you have set and ports opened.

This is because WIP AND NIP need to be the same in srNodeType.ini. This is how it works with hamachi because you use 5.xx or whatever IP it gives.

If you use 192.168.x.x for NIP and WIP for 2.217.55.xx it won't work for some reason they both have to be the same. When i had a dedicated T1 line they gave me 5 STATIC IP's and both computers where auto set to WIP's along time ago. For people using standard dsl or cable get a 2-3 STATIC IP's!!

Sadly this suxs but hamachi is always a workaround and i had fun last night with some friends. If anyone has another suggestion or possible fix i'd be greatly interested.

If your getting C9 any other time never set server files to 127.0.0.1 it's pointless. Find your LAN IP for that computer. Usually starts with 192.168 or 10.10.0.x etc.... OTHERWISE USE HAMACHI IP IF YOU WANT FRIENDS TO JOIN.

Some people with usually get the luxury of having DMZ mode on there router and sometimes this sets that computer from LAN IP to a WAN IP DIRECTLY. I only know this from experience with 2WIRE Modems and AT&T American Internet.

The reason for the C9 is that the server files were designed to be used LAN only.

WAN patches are currently in development.

OH? That sounds even more interesting that would explain why LAN AND WAN have problems.

LAN ip = WAN ip = IPv4
differant from local ip = 127.0.0.1 = localhost ;)

So Look my server is running under my local ip adress 192.168.178.20, if i connect the client to 127.0.0.1 it will give me the C9 error, but if I connect to my local ip it works fine, I think just let it so open the ports and it will be connectable from other machines. Anyway I cant login my char.. maybe its belongs with this?

Perfect why should they?? if they are both at the same router you just have to connect through the gateway server

When I was running behind a router, I got c9. I took it away, works perfectly.
