Making Configuration Manager

09/16/2011 15:30 BeginnerDO#1
Hey all!

This is really big question/request but I hope somebody have time to answer.

As you can remember I have been looking for coinfiguration manager but I haven't found so I decide to make my own manager.
I have tested it with Excel and its working quite well. I can now simulate matches with x4/x4+rsb but only ONE config :( It also calculate max hit/shield with amount X of lf3s/lf4s/shileds. Those works..

But 2 question
-Can I somehow calculate match with 2 configs in excel (switch config after shield ends)

-A big question. Here it comes. I dont know anything of software language or making programs. But I wanna learn. I thought this could be easy way to "learn". Can someone say which way is the easies? what I need for making it? How I make it?:D
(or if it really hard for post guide and u wanna make it with my excel-calculations it is also okay but then I wanna get guide, how to edit it:D)

And I could give some reward for good guide ;)

Their is already a config program that simulates battles can not remember who wrote it thought but its on these forums, it isnt accurate when it comes to fights but then nothing really would due to random misses...

If you want to create your own though, most use VB you can download it for free on the internet then their are many tutorial on the internet and even on utube. I was going to make something similar to this but effort required made me go meh, plus i change configs alot so it would be useless.

Guess i should add, i just use excell now as a ship config (calculate dmg and shields)

Yes here is 2 configuration managers: Another is down (thread closed=not coming back online) and another is quite bad: it calculate amount of shield and hit wrongly and had also another bad thing ( i dont remember what xd)

I could read something about VB but is it easiest way? I just wanna know the easiest language/way to make this manager :D

Easiest way? I dont know but its the most popular language ive seen on the forums other than AutoIt that uses macros. I suppose you could look into AutoIt, but i think Vb would be best maybe a programmer will say im not too sure.

AutoIT is a very good, easy and fun to learn programming language with simplified commands to automate stuff , I suggest you start with that :).

can anyone make a real cong manager which we can use in game like WP or kerkava
like autochanging cong if shield lower that __%
09/16/2011 17:13 BeginnerDO#7
Yep, I have heard this autoIT before (by another forum) and they said also that it would be easy for beginners like me :D

But somekind of "how to get starded" guide (step by step) could be really good. I havent never before made anything like this. I know, there is guides in youtube and google but most of them are quite different than this program. (and remember, if someone have time to make a good guide/hint list, little reward could appear to your account ;))

aa meeen i was making an configuration manager to :facepalm: i that no one else would make one oo gosh

No-one is stopping you zeth lol i just wish BP would sort out their hanger page its annoying having to redo configs when you buy a veng/goli or put full shields on -.-

Well I downloaded both autoIT and vb. Vb was (with fast looking) easier and I liked it's way to "built" program. (I mean, first set putton, then write. In AutoIT it was just writing and making program harder without knowing anything oh it :))

But then again, some guestions for you ;) (but now only 3 :D)

First: I've starded making this with two forms. One for both configs. Can I somehow take hit and shield from form1 and also from form2 and put those to form3? (sry, really bad english but I hope you understand). Form3 will be 1vs1 calculator. If this is impossible, how I should do it?:D

And second: I know how to make really simple "1vs1 tester". It calculates the remain hitpoints (shows only won config and how much op & shield left) but how can I make little better looking simulator. I mean like Gähn's simulator (Not copy of it but something like that!) it shows amount of shield&hp after every hit.

And finaly: Really simple and stubid question. I have tested, it calculates the amount of hit and shield correctly. I have used textbox for showing amount of lf3s and for showing total hit. For seproms/pps/etc I have used Check boxs. (also hard to explain with my enlgish skills but I try^^) The problem is that: If I click any check box (it shows correctly hit) but if I click it again (its not anymore checked) it doesnt refresh the right answer (it shows the last answer). How can this be solved?

Thanks a lot for answers!

Without installing vb and checking the answer for three would be something like

Code:
if checkbox1.checked = true then
   yourcode
elseif
checkbox1.checked = false then
second code
end if
sire someone will correct if im wrong been a while since i was learning and then cba lol

i don't know much about programmes.but wish you good luck for making it. :)

Just to be annoying :p.

Quote:

your code
else
your code 2
end if
To answer first post;
Use different sheets?...

=(Sheet1!A1.... -> Config 1
=(Sheet2!A1.... -> Config 2

And such?... And use a basic IIF statement to "Switch" configs?

@Warrior im pretty sure your code does not work as i believe i tried it like that, thats php style not vb i could be wrong though but im sure i tried that and it failed. was a while ago though.
