Vmware solution for themida protection

just want to share it here guys

1. Run your VMware Guest OS.

2. Goto Run (a tool in windows where you can put any command for windows)
Type: Regedit

3. Navigate and Change this entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-
BFC1-08002BE10318}/0000

Double Click on "DriverDesc" and erase the value.
DO NOT DELETE DriverDesc, if you do this Themida will look for other entries in your registry that tell it you are running cabal inside vmware.

NOTE: If you're using W7 in your VMware, there are several "DriverDesc" you need to change. Use the Find tool of regedit (ctrl+F)

(E-games could easily change themida protection to query other information in VMware OS, to check for other values, in the future)

4. Close your VM Guest OS

5. In your host OS, Find your Virtual Machine configuration (*.vmx)
add this text

monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
isolation. tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.setVersion.disable = "TRUE"
isolation. tools.getVersion.disable = "TRUE"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "TRUE"

save it, and your all set

This is only for the PH Version needed as far as i know tho.

i have 1 problem the warning not apear but the game dont run, its some problem with vmware tools because d3d doesnt work :S

thier is a 4 little buggie command on this but if you try to search more you can do VMWARE on any private server at the present im playing cabal PH Jupiter and Venus Server. and its working.... :cool:

hi there... can you help me i have a problem playing cabal on vmware 8.0 the gg dtects me. here's wat i did.

1. dl vmware 8.0 and installed on my laptop
core i3 2.7ghz
3gb ram
ati radeon 1gb hd 5145
2. create vm; windows xp sp2 on my portable external hard disk
3. dl latest client cabal ph and installed on my guest after installation auto patch occurs.
4. after patching i started the game but gg detected.
added all the txt in vmx file still the same.
anyone there could help me? thanks in advance. ^_^

ummm sorry for being a newbie but.. how do you add those? and where?
