The problem with IP. need some help

i am just wondering. when playing MMO's and your not folowing the rules, you get banned. but most of the time they will use IP bans.

becouse 80% of the ppl have a dinamic IP they just make a new account and start all over.

but now i'm wondering. if you have a Static ip. is there some way to hide if for gaming? or something like that ? so if you get ip-banned, your not totally banned of?

is there some trick to do this ? normal, or if you are behind a router?

definitly NOT......the account itself will be banned (Username).....just as you said: (at least) 80% of the ppl have a dynamic ip.....reconnect after a ban, get a new ip, play on, but now any other person could get this 'banned' ip after a new dial up and is unable to play then....so this kind of ban will have no real effect and so its not realy used by most of mmorpgs
better doing a mac ban, changing mac adresses isnt as easy as a reconnect to the internet ^^

i see, but ia there some way to mask a static IP, just to make shure?

for sure, just use a proxy server but in most cases it will slow down your connection

you know where i can find a guide on how to set up a proxy ? becouse i don't know anything about proxy yet

does that also work when ur behind a router ? or will they just see the router adres when playing mmo's ?

Your private ip couldnt be banned
Would be funny if it would work...banning 192.168.1.100 blopp.....50% of players are banned xD

i'm starting to understand more and more :D

so this programm for hide ip platinum makes the Router-ip. (my static home ip) inviseble for the mmo-game to see. and so it can not be banned. am i correct in this ?

that hide IP program is just scanning and scanning, but it won't connect. so it does not work :S
