In this guide you are going to learn how you modify the little loading screen that comes when you start Silkroad!

For this you need some tools;
PK2 Tools:[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
DDJ_DDS Converter:[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Adobe Photoshop Plugin(For DDS):[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Adobe Photoshop: [No Link]
When you got all the tools and extracted them somewhere you can find, go and open PK2 extractor and open your Media.pk2 (Remember to make an backup before you edit something!).

In there you go to Interface/Loading (click on loading). Extract all and all the files in Loading will be extracted to the place where your PK2 Extractor is located. Then you need to keep start_loading_02.ddj till start_loading_10.ddj. So you can remove all the others.
Now you got the normal ddj files, you got to convert them to dds so you can edit the files in Photoshop. Click on Directory, then click on the three dots [...] and select the folder where your ddj files are located. Click on convert and there are your dds files.

Now Install the plugin for photoshop so you can edit the dds files.
Once you did that, you can just edit the files (start_loading_02.ddj till start_loading_10.ddj) and save them again as dds, you don't need to change the settings when you save the files.
Now you have edited the dds files and you need to convert them back to ddj. This can not be difficult so I am not going to tell how this works.
If you've converted the files to ddj you are ready to import them to the media.pk2.
Open PK2 Editor (For vista users; run it as Windows XP SP2) and open your media.pk2.
Use the manual single file import to make sure the files will get on the place you want.
Fill it in like this, and ofcourse, edit it for each file that you import. (So if you do number 3, edit it to start_loading_03.ddj)

Once you've imported all the files, go to File-->Close and the PK2 is edited. You can now play silkroad with your own modified loading screen.
