Recommendations?

Hello, I'm looking to expand my views on the stuff I watch. So I though I'd watch a good anime or two. Any suggestions?
The stuff I'm looking for (Doesn't have to be all of them, one of those options is enough):
Something lighthearted.
Something funny, a comedy, dark humour.
Something with a serious and deep plot.
Something with action.
I am looking for something original, so no Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball. And I'm no kid so stuff with suggestive themes or stuff that makes you think also works.

I did, though they are all in german, so that doesn't help me any bit. (Can't speak german)

I've seen Soul Eater, it's good. I didn't really like Fullmetal Alchemist (the older one I guess), is the remake worth the time?

u can watch the first episode of each one and look which one fits u most

Just one major tip, never judge an anime by the first episode or by a summary you find on wikipedia/random Anime Databases. You'll miss a lot

Well, the first thing I judge stuff by is the art style, I do like both the kiddy and darker more realistic ones.
