New Computer for shaiya

08/27/2011 10:13 Givenrobin#1
I'm currently looking for a new computer which is intented to play no games other then shaiya.
For the rest it should be normal computer use.
I do occasionly run Fruityloops,Mixcraft,Autotune,SonyVegas,Photoshop and GIMP.

So i'd be very thankfull if you'd could advise me a GPU and/or a CPU to play shaiya at max settings(all but water effect) and at a resolution 1280x1040
with a decent fps rate during MM/mass pvp.

Thank you

those i marked need minimum 100% more ram then shaiya..
(if i remember right..)

Take enough RAM and minimum DualCore Processor.

Yeah i'll be having 8 gigs of DDR3 1866Mhz Kingstons :)
and about the processors i am thinking about these
I3-2100 with onboard Intel HD 2000
I3-2105 with onboard Intel HD 3000
I5-2500K with onboard Intel HD 3000
AMD A8-3850 with onboard 6550D

Intel HD 2000<Intel HD 3000<6550D -GPU who's better
AMD A8-3850<I3-2100 and I3 2105<I5 2500K -CPU who's better

Now i'm questioning if the Intel HD 2000 or 3000 is good to play shaiya.

Shaiya is one of the few games that don't require a lot of resources, after you said about those other programs you use, as greester said, you don't need a lot, a simple dual core would work perfectly for you, and even 8Gb of RAM is more than what you would need ;)

8 G's is over kill, 2 G's would work...

I think Photoshop has a greater system specs than Shaiya. So if Photoshop works then Shaiya should lol...

Agreed 8Gigs is overkill.
My laptop runs perfectly fine at 4gigs and can handle any game that ive played extremely well. ( on max settings)
So for just Shaiya, you can get ANY computer from bestbuy or wallmart or something and they will all be perfect for Shaiya and all those programs.
And yeh Photoshop does take more power than Shaiya believe it or not, but i can run all of my adobe applications and Shaiya and have little or no lag.

My laptop has a second generation I5 with an old ATI 5770 with 6GB of RAM and I play MW2 on high setting, and Photoshop CS5 smoothly. So you really don't need a powerful graphics card at all. An integrated card should do fine as long as you have a mainstream processor and 4GB's of RAM. And to answer your question, the I5 2500K is one of the most powerful possessors out there for gaming. It will kill 95% of the competition due to how much you can overclock this beast!

Even 4GB wouldn't really be used on a 100%; for example, I have a really bad computer, it is really old, a single core processor 2.1GHz, an Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE (512MB) Video Card and just 1.5GB of RAM, and if i run just the software Givenrobin named there, I do it easily and I don't get any issues with all of those (maybe Sony Vegas would be a little slow) but that would be it.

So at the end, to run just those programs, you don't need anything special at all

4GB might be enough for you, since you have a dedicated gpu,
all the gpu's in mentioned are shared, I'm also assuming you have vista or xp on that computer. While 7 takes up more memory as an OS. (compared to vista or xp).
But, anyway i could always place another 2/4 GB in to my computer if needed.

True Shaiya does not use that much.
But things like Sony Vegas will use as much CPU and GPU if your using Cuda and RAM as possible.
My Computer has 16GB with a 6 core and Sony Vegas Pro 10 Will Max out all 6 cores when rendering to HD video.
Only Problem I Have Is When Rendering Massive Models In Maya and 3D Max.
