Help me to secure my server

Hello !

i have problem with some hackers. The hacker come to my server and create an account from my register site then he became like ADM. He use GM command against players. Additionally he remove all my database. i changed all my passwords in the server and database but he still able to log in and change him self to GM. i don't know what kind of hack he use???:confused:
my server Shaiya is version 5.3
So please can u tell me how can i secure and close all weak point in my server and stop hacking it?:handsdown:

Well, first you should check if you have all the ports which are not necessary closed. Then, i would highly recommend to read through this guide (Posted by Bane) [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Going off of this for others, this is definitely something you want to keep an eye out for. The current Episode 5.x copies floating around here STILL have that trigger in the database files. (I know because I had to remove it myself). Those hosting these files need to seriously fix this problem.
