The Reapers are pulling out of our sectors. I don’t know what you did but whatever it was, it sure worked! Well done, pilots! After all that fighting, you sure deserve a well-earned break …

Oh no, this isn't good.
It looks like the pirates only retreated gather scrap from our battered and broken hulls in order to build a new base. The Reapers have taken and modified our warp technology and to turn it against us.
They've built one-way gates to ensure that there's no easy way out for pilots who venture into their space. They've set up gates in sector 4-5 that lead to their own territory; once on the other side, the only gate there will lead you back to sector 4-4.
A deadly new enemy patrols the Reapers' base. And this is what we know about them:

The Battleray is the largest and most powerful ship in the Reaper fleet. It serves as a support vessel for the rest of the armada and is used as launch pad for smaller Reaper ships such as the Interceptors.
It can launch wave after wave of Interceptors into space and repair damaged Interceptors by by sending out a burst of energy. As long as there's a certain number of Interceptors in its vicinity, the Battleray is next to indestructible.
