PC problem! help

I get this error when I try to open my pc:
Can not find operating system

What can I do?

operating system broken
Windows new install

Those informations are really insufficient for us to help you, please answere the following questions.

Since when do you have that problem? Is your harddrive identified in BIOS? Does your harddrive still have a jumper (sata or ide)?

Did you do anything special before that problem? Can you repair your system? Do you use Windows?
