Hi!

I want to ask about the server side..
So lets say that i make pserver in win xp that is on [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. And lets say that it is all fine and ready to go..

1. Now i need to choose the server host(cause you cant host pserver from home?). Are there any recommendations? Any stats that i should watch?

2. After the payment how do i use it? They give me a upload link or something?

3. How do i get the virtualbox win xp started in there? And the game running so that people can log in and play?

Anyway i am total noob in that point, so i need help.
Is the server itself like a win using comp or?

Ps: if you cant understand what i mean then let me know..

Thnx

Well, you need to check for all the specifications of the server to see which one fits with what you need.

After you get it, you will get the Host's IP and a user with password (which you obviously can change whenever you want) so from you pc you will be able to connect to the host (which will have an Operating System Installed, obviously) and in there you will be able -depending on your user rights- to install everything you need to get your server running for example SQL Server and such....

You won't need a VM in there, you can do everything on the host

But i can use VM? And there shouln't be any problems?

If so, i will conti. to use my VM...

Thnx! Btw...

You can (even though on some hosts, as i've heard, some kind of software is not able to be installed, have never tried to install a VM on the host though) and it shouldn't give any problems, yet its just doing something easy more complicated ;)

But lets say that i dont use VM.. then i need to install all the Sql on the server win and run [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] all again?

Well you will need to install everything in there, like when you started setting everything up on your personal computer, you can do a copy/paste from your computer to the dedicated, but obviously you will need to install SQL and all the software that is needed to run the server, plus everything you think it would be convenient to have in there in case of some "emergency" :p
