Major Issues

Yeah, I'm new, a leecher, whatever you'd like to call me. I don't think so. I've been around games for years, black market, etc. 2moons is the first game that I've actually tried to hack, however, and I'm having some major difficulties.

I'm all about learning, rather than memorizing information and then ruining hackers' reputations.

I understand that Monster Editor is a program that's a lot more user-friendly to use to edit your data.pak file than a program such as WinHex or Hex Editor Neo. Now, WinHex and Hex Editor Neo work for me, but when I try to save data.pak, it doesn't allow me to. I actually forget what it says, but that's something I may be able to fix.

Now when I open Monster Editor, it gives me the "there was an error with your data file". I make sure it's actually data.pak and that it hasn't been previously edited. Still no luck. Same message. I click cancel and it actually pops up, but this time it's a bunch of gibberish and symbols in place of where the text would be, but it has all of the slots and tabs that Monster Editor provides. So I reinstalled 2moons to see if that did anything, and it didn't. I'm pretty desperate for help right about now. I read what I can in the threads that say things like "how to vac hack", but they only supply commands and code that experienced vac hackers would be familiar with. I'm not.

So, my request is, can someone help me? If not with 'how to hack', at least with my program issues? If I can at least resolve that, maybe I can learn the rest on my own with a little reading and trial and error. I hope I'm not asking too much.

Looking forward to a reply, thanks.

u call urself a leech? i call myself an idiot i can't even use the editor
05/04/2008 14:40 Supamoelol#3
I'd much rather just call myself a newb, but on most forums, anyone new and looking to learn is auto-termed "leech".

yeah, im having the same problem, i have been trying for ages, but it comes up with gibberish like you said. i looked on google and everyone just skips the opening data source, and gets to the monsters instantly. and when i open 2 moons after failing it comes up with an error message so i can't go onto the game, so i have to uninstall and reinstall it again.

Yeah, I'm not having to reinstall or anything and I'm not having any game issues afterwards. I think, for me, it's strictly Monster Editor that's messing up. I'm sure there's a really simple solution to this, it's just that no one deems it a big enough issue to outright tell us what to do, lol.

What does it open to edit, then? It has to open something... That's what the destination folder slot kind of hints at.

is there no one online who knows about this problem/can be bothered to help us out?

Give it time. I'm sure someone sooner or later will have the respect to help us out.

Listen, u cant use monster editor anymore. until the writer of it, who has quit 2moons btw, decides to update.

It attaches to only the old versions of 2moons, before the major patches.
i have a very old ver of data.pak stored up still, so ofc i just use that.
But if u cant, then go share>creature>monster, open with notepad or anything u want
that is essentially all u need, all the info there is the same as the mons editor.
get the csv files from secportal or ....use DarkInc unpacker to unload and get them
05/04/2008 16:32 Supamoelol#13
You lost me with all of that.. I understand that the Monster Editor program is now out-dated. Don't know what CSV is, or secportal, or DarkInc "unpacker" or anything like that is...

1- u cant not use monster editor no more its server sided if u just dled it if u have it before this new bmr great ucan use it.
2- as for winhex u must be in EDIT MODE go to option on top tool bar and go to edit mode than u are able to put what u want as long as u are doing it right. u must be in (byte)(desimal) in order for it to work.
3- u will now need the new version of winhex 14.9. than u must reg your winhex using the keygen.
u can find everything in the forums called invalid client there u will see around page 5-9 my post and add on with SEC portalcol and the keygen(all this is also given by gamblex)
4- than u must find the way to hack and bypass the new patch 3.0.3 to make any hacks work. or u will not be able to argo vac or edit any part of the data.pak.
5- this is only for the canada/states edition. as for the dekron EU im not ure at all 2 different programs and i dont play EU so if any question pm me if its only about acclaim not EU i will not answer anything, for i know nothing about it.
6- i hope this is a big help to you u can find all this info on other forums on this site
ty and have a good day.

DarkInc Unpacker u can get it in the 1st page ---major hack list. it is used to unpack the data.pak file so u can view info by opening .csv file with MS excel.
Open and look for monster info in monster.csv file give the hint to edit using Winhex.
Atm, most of the edit doesn't work and will give u "invalid client file" sort of error. Remember to make backup copy of data.pak before u try anything to avoid re-install the game.
Take your time to try it out. Good luck.
