How stable on a VM

Heya everyone, sorry I have been gone from this section, been doing allot, I was just wondering how stable a Co2 CLOSED server could be in Oracle VM.

Specs

Host OS: BackTrack
VM OS: windows XP with SP3
RAM: 1.5 G
HDD: 40G

Now remeber, this will not be made public, it is just a sandbox for me to develop in

1.5GB? To hold a closed server you could use like 256 and get away with it. Also since the HDD space will be taken off of your computer you should probably ask yourself if you'd really need that much space. AppServ + A nicely developed full source + all required updates + client would be like 10GB at the very very max and that's if your server was filled with tons of customizations and it was 100% fixed and 100% updated. I'm guessing that you're going to be using the client on your host computer, correct? If you'll be using the client on the VM then you'll need about 516MB at the least. (When I say client, I'm referring to the Conquer Client) But to answer your question, it would be extremely stable. You should be more than fine with those specs you mentioned. Good luck and smart move using a sandbox! I didn't and my comp gets filled with random crap I end up not needing.

Well, after geting it all installed I found that it would not run the client even with hardeware accelration, which is odd since it worked on my Shaiya test server.

Now I am going to move into running it using WINE and see where that takes me.

And Fox, I acctualy have like 4VM's, one for opeing ExE, one for shaiya, one for Co2! XDDDD

Lol nice! xD Oh and CO + WINE is a very big fail. When I was running Ubuntu on my laptop I installed every damn dll file that conquer needed to run off of. (The mircosoft .dlls that come with windows like .NET and whatnot) Yeah, the biggest fail of my life lol. I've heard that some people can get it to work though, so I hope that you do. Good luck!

My attention span was not half big enough to get it to work on Wine (well not for this) I just installed Windows XP black edition, and ran it on that =P
