Error 2010 Urgent dedicated

guys, I have an urgent problem to be solved ...
basically a friend of mine wants to Start a server with 2010 files, data sets, followed by
cd /
Then fetch links ....
and it takes 3 seconds to load.
then when should tar-xf Filename.tar.gz he does and get this:

Input / output error
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
please help me soon ...
