how to delete piece of image by photoshop

Hello,

i have a new icon for my gears,

and when i look at icon in the game (open my bag and look at it) then i see my icon but there is a black background.

so then it looks like that

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

so how to delete this background to in game we could see only a main thing of the icon without background ?

Apparently the tool you used did not know how to handle alpha channel and just removed, merging it with RGB channels as 0 filled mask (black).
Or you converted the original DDS to some format which does not have alpha at all, or you created it without alpha from the beginning.
