First of all, let me make something clear. This does NOT bypass GameGuard or nProtect or GameMon or whatever you want to call it BUT it will prevent GameGuard from updating itself should Nexon decide they needed to. This might come in handy later.
MabinogiUS GameGuard updater bypass
The basic idea of this is publicly available and works for a lot of GameGuard protected games. You put the update files in a local webserver with the same folder structure as the offical update server. Then you resolve the hostname GameMon.des connects to, to localhost using your hosts file.
Now what you gotta do? :P
Download Apache.rar and MabinogiGameGuard1059.rar
Extract Apache.rar somewhere you want. Now go to \Apache\data\www\ and create a new folder called Mabinogi and in Mabinogi another folder called RealServer.
So you should end up in \Apache\data\www\Mabinogi\RealServer\
Now extract the files from MabinogiGameGuard1059.rar into the RealServer folder.
Then go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and open your hosts file using notepad or any other text editor. Make sure you don't have read-only checked.
There should only be one entry after all the # lines. If not, you have either been hacked or edited the file before. ;)
In a new line, paste
Save the file and close the editor. Check read-only.
Go back to your Apache folder and run startApache.bat. Open your browser and type guard.nexon.net:80 If you see the folder structure and the files you just extracted it means you did well.
Optional: Delete your GameGuard folder in your Mabinogi folder or simply rename it to have GameGuard 'download' its files from your apache server when you start Mabinogi.
Note: If you already have a newer version than 1059, you have to do this step.
After you stop playing, you can run stoApache.bat to shutdown the apache server.
