Offline private server?

Is there any way I could make a server so that it is offline only?
So that I could play by myself.
If anyone knows of a way, please let me know, thanks.

Or perhaps, does anyone have a tutorial or some tips on creating a private server (for vista),
all the ones i have found are crap.

Just set it up on your computer, using hamachi.

Depends on what server version would you like to create.

Well, i've been trying to set up a pserver using arcos guide, but i can't figure it out, i keep running into problems

Just to screw around. If I begin to understand this private server crap, then I will make it to where others can play as well
