What are the general rules for using these kind of apps?

I was just wondering. What are the safest precautions / "security" measures you should do before using any kind of hack, like speed hacking? Or the teleport to NPC program, Mr. Argus I think is what it was called.

I think the spell Invisible plays a huge part in it, but I think there's some other stuff advised as well. I thought maybe a topic with all the general stuff in it would be nice for anyone who doesn't know the stuff, like me.

(Personally, I only use fishbots, and that's plenty for me.)

at the time where my friends and myself have been using these tools, this is what i did:

for the speedhack and teleport hack, it heavily depends on the zone where you use it. always /sea the area before you are about to use the hacks and always think twice - like, if you teleport to the ENM item at uleguerand range or attohwa chasm, when people tab around for some reason and suddenly sea an invisible lvl 75 there, they will know that you teleported up there. same is for uleguerand range, if you speedhack all over the place and people target you or see your footsteps, its very bad.
zones to NOT use speed/teleport hack, no matter what:
- ENM's, BCNM's, ISNM's, KSNM's - any kind of BC's.
- Promyvions
- Limbus
- Dynamis

teleport to npc is probably the worst thing to do, just teleport close to it and then walk normally.
claimbots are safe as long as you dont have the option to teleport-on-top-of-NM.

a last note... always have a second waypoint to teleport to if you once accidently port near a person.

thanks for that...i've been playing FFXI since '04 and have just now decided to try out some botting programs and stuff, that info is nice but almost all these threads are from 2006 and i'm curious which claimbots still work? thanks =]
