VMware problems with S4 league

05/18/2011 17:43 Blacknight89#1
Sorry for my english guys.

I'm going to explain my situation:

I'm trying to make work s4 league in a windows xp professional virtual machine, all with vmware workstation 7.

I had a lot of problems, but i solved them.

Unfortunately, when I solved a problem, another problem arrive.

Now, when I try to start s4 league, a message appears saying:

WinLicense
Sorry, this application cannot run under a virtual machine

I tryed the solution to put the code:

svga.vramSize = 268435456
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "true"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "true"
tools.remindInstall = "TRUE"

in the windowsxp.vmx

but it doesn't work because there is another message that says:
vmware workstation - vmware workstation
Dictionary problem

Now, what I should to do?

I enclose the content of windowsxp.vmx :

I canīt help you but maybe you should write S4 League VM Tutorial or something like that into the Search Box . Just look for a Tutorial I think that you can find an answer there :D

A few people seem to be having the same problem, myself included. Looks like it may have something to do with the newest patch. There are already a few threads on the first page about this.

Thank you guys!

I don't know what really means "fixxed"...but do you know if, in the future, will be possible start s4 league on a virtual machine? The changes are permanently?

It's more than likely still possible to get it to work with VM if someone put in a bit of time to look at it. I would if I knew anything about this kind of thing but sadly I do not. I think I recall reading in one of the threads I linked too, someone saying they were going to take a look at it.
