[Knight] Shield Question

Sup, probably I'll get yelled at for creating this but here I go:
Whats the deal with changing between a Block and a SkillBlock Shield?
Been wearing a 2-Slot Block shield for PVE, and a PVP shield for...well, for PVP :D

Now, if I'm buffing with the Block-Shield and then change to SB-Shield, the buffs that require Shields just stop. (Faith Defender, Spirit Shield...)
SB goes down (because of FD), Ele Res goes down (cuz of Spirit Shield) so I asked myself 'am I the only person this happens to?' or is this a common bug?
OR, is it even a bug, perhaps a feature?! ;)

Would be good to get this cleared, pretty confused right now, cuz say changing to SB-Shield while grinding because of PKs is pretty hard with this and I don't really like hybrid shields :/

This is everything except a bug

For FD and spirit shield , you need a shield to be equipped , i think its even written on the description, so when you change the shield you have like 5 micro seconds no shield on , so the buffs go down cuz of that


edit : btw if ur grinding in bg , then the sb helps too , but i guess only from lvl 82 mobs on , the ele dmg is a skill and the normal damage that the mobs attack is a normal attack

Buff related to the shield are lost when you remove it.

Simple solution = mixed shield.

If I'm switching shields I thought there is NO between putting one shield off and the other one on, which makes the buff NOT expire since there's always been a shield. But thanks for trolling and finally for clearance, I'll close this one now haha :) Ty

I have a mixed shield :) it has lv 6 stones and stun ^^

Mate you need to make your own shield, depends on what block and skill block are you need. I see someone using 2 slotted shield with max block and skill block (5-5%) with 2 lv4+ block stones Probably they're had lv4+ skill block stones in armor. If you need a high skillblock like for pvp you can put 1 block 1 skillblock into a 2 slotted max skillblocked shield.

Max block/skillblock for dropped shields are 5/5% but you can get better ones if you reinforce your own shields with hammers and anvils. I'm not sure about max stats but you can get atleast 8% sb (probably same with normal block too) and 4% stun/3% cooldown.

Getting those max stats are kind of rare so prepare to have lot of gold/hammers & anvils/shields (if you want higher lvl shield than lv1).

Investing in shields in one mayor priority for those Knights who don't run around with permagodlike. And don't make mixed shields, it's like making rainbow weapons; no effect but quite gay.

So choose 1 shield. Making 2 maxed shields is even more expensive and plain stupid.
There is no allrounder-Knight. You have to choose between crit and stuntank, so you have no pure-knight-combining-everything at all. All knights are different.

I use this, because i need cooldown for buffs never pass, even without lens. My skill block is 80% ++ and block is 80% with this (maybe +2%). Stun in weapon and boots is enough for me :)

Actually this seems like a sweet shield to me ;>
So you basically got SB/Block at 80% (I guess all the other important pvp/pve stats as well), right?

I used to have also same kind of shield on Zian but Lv71:

[2/2] 2x Lv6 block
Total block: +34%
+3% cooldown
+3% block
+6% skillblock

Screenshots of this shield I don't have anymore since I didn't remember took my screenshot-folder to safe when I re-installed windows :P

On Archon I still have Lv38 shield on my zerk which I got from few days after that when webzen took over this game.

[1/1] Lv3 skillblock (Lv4+ stones were not available yet then)
Total block: around +12% (I don't remember but I can check it later)
+4% stun
+4% block
+7% skillblock

Resist 80%, SB 80%, Block 80%, All ele res 80%, Dodge 18% (sad but I am knight), 27% Convert. Ice/light/poison resist still 0%, but i am on it :P I hope everything is listed.
