JW988's STEP BY STEP GUIDE

All credits go to JW988. He did an amazing job of creating the PDF Guide which if READ and FOLLOWED correctly will get you up and running. If you can't get it running or don't understand this then please stop trying to make a server, you seriously don't have the intellect to get it started. For others who had some issues like myself, this guide made my server work in 1 try.

Oh sorry didn't see it myself. This deserved its own thread. All those people still complaining about issues haven't looked at it lol. Shows you how much people actually read.

its the same server like age of rappelz?

as i managed to run server perfectly, i wanted to check back with the AoR private... to do this i had to close any SQL-programs via ctrl+alt+del... no when i try to connect with princessaurora it says cannot connect to DB... then i went to MS SQL management studio to see if all my files had the correct settings... but i cant connect to there either... says SQLserver doesn't exist...

any help to the problem is appreciated ^^

havent changed any settings or tweaked with anything just closed them down through ctrl+alt+del ---> processes

ok gotta ask about the guide cuz i probly messed up somewhere, i keep getting 'cannot connect to login server' error, please help? :(

i followed the guide to the letter but i dunno, also the captainherlockserver isnt working right, it keeps saying 'Unable to respawn monster group. RespawnID(xxxxxxx)' thats all it does for me. T_T

Did you change the IP to your IP? Check both opt files. Make sure you redo the step of rappelzcompress.exe after you change the ip in the gameserver.opt. The respawn error is normal at this point.

Do I use the sql servers ip or my own comps ip? Atm its alll set to the sqls ip and its not working.

i think the very begining may have my answer of why its not working and its the simplest of all, my OS isnt 64 bit, im running win 7 ultimate 32 bit.

guess this like most other things on here are 64 bit only -.-

my friend had the same kind of problem... i was using XP and got it working then i teamviewed him on his win7... we managed to do everything right (restarted 3 times cus same error as above), then we just tought, what the heck, and changed
