say goodbye to Gameguard

As we all know, the new update from yesterday (February 26, 2008) the GameGuard was updated and as a result many of us have problems with launching 3rd party software. So I decided to patch the engine.dll and core.dll files to prevent the GG usage.

Here is the link for the patched files [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Doesnt GG update in the background?

No, this complete prevents the GG from loading or upgrading. You can delete the GG folder and GameGuard.des file and they will not come back unless you do a full check in the lineageII.exe. Besides your lineage will run faster than ever.

Haha so now the only problem is verifying.
Wow, that was quick ~applauds~

The VPN bot works, as he said it would. It seems viable because people were talking about encrypted auth packets, and VPNs use encryption. It's possible they changed L2walker to be: "only allow encrypted auths from 192.168.1.12", and this bot does a loopback like that using a vpn.

I don't know enough to disassemble it, but i tried it and it worked, and then i changed my password, just in case. So for those of us who are more trusting individuals, go get em.

Could you get this to work in Cabal online please?

so what this does is. when you log into game it completely bypasses gameguard? isnt that how OOG works? sending diffent packets because there is no game guard detection on the persons account isnt it ezer to get band?

it just gets rid of gameguard completely , it doesnt bypass it because gg just wont be loaded anymore ;)

Exactly this is not a by pass. this is the REAL GG killer. GG will never be loaded

but isn't the server able to see that your client is not using GG?
02/28/2008 03:16 handols#11
"The procedure entry point ??3UObject@@SAXPAXI@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library Core.dll" cant launch the client

that's a common mistake. GameGuard does not send information to the server, that is not a GG fucntion.

Look at the main features of GG

* Malicious code diagnosis and blocking
* Blocks Auto-mouse and Macro program
* Blocks access and manipulation attempts to the game client
* Self protection of security module
* Detects Speed hack
* Optimized CPU occupancy rate

Besides the l2.ini sets if a KeyCrypt function should be used or not.
Disabling this the client can be injected with little more success than in normal scenarios.

And in fact is not GG whom detects you are using bot or not. GG is more to prevent the usage of 3dr party software with Lineage2. Covering the exe file memory blocks and hiding it from the task manager.
Try running l2.exe with the original files, type control+shift+esc and under processes pane search for l2.exe running and you'll find nothing. Now do the same using my patched files and you'll see l2.exe running. It means that GG is not running anymore.

I would LOVE to run Lineage 2 without GameGuard, but honestly I don't think it's safe to do so, as I can't be sure that there is no way for them to detect this in some way. Tampering with the game's files is as bad as anything, and it's likely you'd get banned if they found out. I've used the zoom hack before because I'm pretty sure that's client side, but with something like this where it communicates back and forth (and possibly to the servers) I just don't feel safe. I have been wanting to turn off GameGuard since they integrated it - the difference in all load times was HUGELY noticeable for the worse. I think that if you''re brave enough to do this, or you're sure it's safe, then go for it. I'll hold off for a while

Hey if you play on a private server its hela lot worth it to disable . . .
;) save some precious load times/increase performance.

Well I have been patching core.dll and engine.dll since c3 in retails servers and Im still there playing as usual. NCSoft and GameGuard has are not related. Inca Co. is the one making Gameguard and many games use it.

The cons are:
1.- as the l2 client becomes complete free of gameguard; keygens, record engines, etc will work.
2.- if you talk in game of it you'll certainly be banned.

the Pros are:
1.- You can use any macro program
2.- You can inject the L2.exe file with ease
3.- You can use memory readers/editors
4.- Your client will be more stable
5.- Your load/performance will be far better.
6.- etc.
7.- etc

You can read more about this in the nprotect.com site

GameGuard is not really used to communicate ingame (back and forth in Lineage II) i think. Or any of the OGG bots will ever work
