Ban based on IP

Does the server log your IP address so if you hack on one account and get caught they can ban your other accounts too?
And does the server log only the last IP address logged in? So if you get caught, can you quickly login with a proxy for other accounts so they can remain safe?
Ty. Sorry if it is confusing.

they can check via passwords too, so either keep the password really common (eg 123456) so if they ban by password a bunch of other innocent get banned as well, or keep making new ones per account.

Also, if they modified the stored procedure they can log each account logins with the IP's (like what we do).

Thanks. I guess it's not easy to avoid

No one really does that though, (Unless they're smart) other than that you're correct when ever you login the IP column gets updated with the latest IP

Interesting. I guess I'll use a proxy to save my main char xD.

IP bans server side are bypass-able always. Unless they setup a system to automatically firewall you then you can always bypass the ban. What happens is they add your IP address associated with your account into a black list table. And run a check every time you try to login. Use a proxy and you'll be fine.
