[Request] Changed Gems .dds Images

01/29/2008 18:53 Nething#1
I was wondering if anyone had modded .dds images for gems so that on the ground it showed something different that is very obvious and easy to notice. Something sort of Like evan's ANIeditV2.

I would do it myself but I'm out of Photoshop Trials and I can't find a decent Photo editor that can edit .dds.

I have searched for this many times and can't find it and evan has refused to add it to his editor. I'm not sure what ID numbers gems are but I think someone put them in evan's ANIeditor Thread In Hacks/Tools/Exploits.

If someone could please make this or share ones they already had that would be much appreciated.

Take a look in your mapItemIcons Folder. Are there dds files called 700001.dds and so on up to 700073.dds? If they are there, make a backup of them. Now, find a dds file with a giftbox, or make yourself a picture you'd like. (You can edit dds files with photoshop or gimp, plugins needed for both).
Copy the file 8 times and rename it to
700001.dds (phoenix gem)
700011.dds (draggy)
700021.dds (fury)
700031.dds (rainbow)
700041.dds (kylin)
700051.dds (violet)
700061.dds (moon)
700061.dds (tortoise, can be left out though).

i had said something very similar to this in my other post, the problem is that 700001.dds and so forth don't exist, those are just the item ID numbers for the normal gems. the actual pictures that you'd need to change are each "your number - 1". (HOWEVER, i actually have no clue where to find them either) BUT if you go Conquer 2.0>ani>MapItemIcon open it in notepad and search for:
700000
700010
700020
700030
700040
700050
700060
(btw that is what i meant by "your number - 1")
and change each of those to a dds file of your choice, that you place in data>MapItemIcon directory then it'll change the image of the gems on the ground, and you're set!

I have to disagree. There are no items named 700000, 700010 and so on. Normal gems are 700001, 700011 .... ref gems 700002, 700012 ..., super gems 700003, 7000012 and so on.
The dds files can't be found in the mapitemicon folders, because they are packet in a wdf archive (data.wdf). If new files are put in the folder, they will be used instead of the ones in the archive.
It's sufficient to change the normal gems' pics, as the others usually don't drop.

i know there arent any items with the IDs 700000, 700010, and so on, but each gem refers to a DDS file with one of those names. The images on the ground for normal, refined, and super gems are all the same, so it makes sense that each type of gem only have one image for all three qualities. Likewise, it seems unreasonable, to me, that they would have multiple copies of the same picture for one type of gem. (if there is a good reason, i would like to know)

(ani>MapItemIcon)
Code:
[700001]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700000.dds

[700002]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700000.dds

[700003]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700000.dds

[700011]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700010.dds

[700012]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700010.dds

[700013]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700010.dds

[700021]
FrameAmount=1
Frame0=data/MapItemIcon/700020.dds
and it continues like that for all the gems.

basically, i feel that the info u gave, about the file names being 700001 and the like is inaccurate because everything that i find says the opposite. but, if you want, you can show me some evidence that will prove that you are right too. I'm being defensive because i don't want people to be getting false information when i know that the way i gave does work.
