ItemType modding help

I am trying to make a custom itemtype.dat file very similar to a1blasters with some customizations and some advise in editing the file he posted in another post.. I downloaded version 3, and single spaced all normal items, potions and gold or lower. Leaving Refined or higher, special items and gold bullion or higher. Everything is working great with a few small issues that I am hoping for some guidance:

1. Refined items are just showing up as text not as an item i can see on my screen. Not a huge issue but makes it a little easier to click on.

2. Since I removed all the potions out of the file, when i try to go to the pharmacist to buy a teleport scroll the shop shows as completely empty and I am unable to purchase one that way. But I did not remove them from the itemtype and I can see them in the shopping mall or if they are traded or dropped. (Bigger issue as it slows down my travel to different hunting locations)

3. Last issue is minor but hey the less clutter the better for me. I would like to remove the images of the now un-named potions from the field so all I see is the items I am looking for.

Any guidance would be awesome. If any one is interested in the file when i finish it or wanting to look at it for troubleshooting let me know so I can post the file. Unfortunately i am curtrently at work and unable to post right now.

Thank you in advance.

Any guidance would be awesome, I am also going to post this question in the forums to see if the public has a clue.

Idea for No. 3:

Open your mapitemicon.ani file (in the ani folder) with a text editor. Find the potions with the help of the item numbers from the (decrypted) itemtype.dat file.
Make yourself a blank & transparent 64x64 pixel dds file with photoshop or gimp, name it blank.dds for example.
Now, in the mapitemicon.ani, at the potions' numbers, change the dds files to blank.dds

example:

stancher has number 1000000

mapitemicon.ani is like this:

[1000000]
frame amount =1
..... 1000000.dds

Don't edit the 1000000.dds file (or any other), because they are used by other, mostly quest items as well.

Thank you for the help on that. Now for my other issues.

Run "conquer.exe blacknull", and then look for "debug" folder in your conquer dir.
Maybe the debug folder is there already.
Open the log file and find out what is missing.

That idea is good, take a look in conquer 2.0\debug.

When I mess with items and they aren't displayed properly, there's a debug log.
