I have looked for a good starterstip and coul'd not find any so I started my own since I played archlord for a while and made alot characters of any class.
The beginning is the most fun part, but you can level really fast and easy without struggling too much.
When you are totally new, I would advice you to build a berserker or any other close combat character since they are the hardest to die with.
When you are done making a character and just joined a server you will start with almost no money and just a few potions. There is a quest at the beginning village, but it is not interesting to do this quest since the rewards are really low. I would quest later in the game when it's getting hard to level.
First we need to put auto healing on. To do this hold your left mouse button on the triangle at the left side of you health bar and put it on like 25% of you health bar. Look at the image below if you can't find it

The next thing to do is, go out of the village and go left. You will see green Worms. Kill some of them. They will drop gold, potions and items. Do this untill you get a nice weapon with + element damage on the stats or + damage. Those weapons are doing really great damage and can take harder to kill mobs on without probs. Wich will cause you to lvl super fast.
If you find any reinforcement potions or elemental stones. you can sell those for really high price, and buy yourself some good weapons and armor with so you can level much faster. In the beginning it's not important to use those yet so just sell them and buy better gear.
You can trade at the auction house wich is the place where everyone sells there items. You have a vendor in every city/villlage. If you want to sell an item @ auction house, go to your inventory, click the sell button in the lower right corner, and drag the item in the auction house window that pops up. Fill the price and start selling. To check if something is selled, go to the sell window again and claim your sold items if its available.

If you do this right, you can get like level 20 in couple hours.
