Will there are many ways you can speed up your computer and your connection speed...
Many times there are programs your computer is running you dont know off or programs your windows run thinking its needed, so i know some ways to disabled alot of stuff you dont need to increase ur computer performance and internet speed.
This is ONLY for Windows XP...

2- Defragment your HardDrive once in a while and remove uneccesary files on your computer.
3- Download "Download manager" <-- this program increases your internet connection download...It opens your internet connections to which your ISP set a limit to.
Remove As many CO effects you dont need, Like SDG effect.
When you run CO, Hold Control+Alt+Delete a window pops up, on that window right click on Conquer and set priority to highest or realtime...this makes your computer focus more on Running CO better then the other programs.
And obviously Dont run Msn, firewall or other programs if your having lag or FPS problems.
AND ALSO... Click on Start, Click on Run and type msconfig - then the 2nd top right corner should say windows programs, click on that and say hide all Microsoft programs and after that if you see any programs still checked all you do is uncheck them... and the button on the top right corner says something like windows startup programs, uncheck them all unless you need some of it.
