zero Pserver reborn, making a new server!

hi and welcome to everybody,
i'm giving an idea for a project for latest patched private server for zero,
i named the project shooting star,
i saw that people don't matter a lot about making a private server for zero(updates etc)
but it is possible just need some brains to work with us ^^'as for conquer coders for example...
now i should begin:
1-the Conquer loader that has been made can redirect the IP of any TQ game^^ even if the server.dat is crypted =) thanks to the maker of that!
2-we can use a sniffer to get that server working properly^^
and for final:
We need team work and hard working peoples ^^'
i'm not a coder but i thrust coders ;)
if a server like that got made (in 2month it will be perfect i guess)
its gonna have too much customers o_o if we can see that ther's only 4 or less private server for zero that works properly...

I've already tried to pull together "coders" in the past. Wont happen. You don't need ip redirection, you just need to decode and recode worlds.dat on newer client side. Just to get up to speed with july 2009 server binaries you need a new account server from scratch or account server modified to support the 2x larger auth packet.

That being said, being the top coder for this type of game, I will not help someone starting a project who isn't even aware of how the game works in the first place.


There is a reason just about no one works on zero as a pserv.

Well good luck to trying to build a team of people who will do all your work for you.

Trying to run a team for a project of this scale without being any kind of programmer especially without having any knowledge of reverse engineering, which is needed for the material involved to do this type of project, will only sink this project fast.

So again good luck trying to run a team of people without even knowing how to instruct them.

and yes i don't have any knowledge about that FOR NOW!
just need some LAZY guys to move up that's all^^ as they do for conquer online
if anybody can do it only by himself he'l find that he's the only one to get the best server for zero wich will get lot of players and it will be N°1 ^^ without miss

We already have OmniWar, and I am that 1 guy who did do it, who already did most of the reverse engineering.

But I am not about to share all that hard work with people who can't even solve the basics on their own.

Zero isn't CO, CO to ZO is like the difference between a little kids tricycle versus a Monster truck. ZO has so much more to it.

Look at it this way, people are still struggling with even EO and EO is far easier. They don't even have a custom C# server working for EO yet, they are trying, but it's far from usable and EO is years older than ZO's system.

Before you try to make some dream team for ZO without even knowing what's involved, solve EO's lack of custom problem first. ZO is mostly dat files with odd structures and compiled lua scripting that does not exist in EO or CO. You can't just make a couple ini edits as the important stuff isn't even in ini format. You have to create brand new dat's, , many many dats, and solve the byte structures of each so you can make new ones of each.

People don't work on it because it's not very popular and it takes insane amounts of work, something people don't seem to understand. Another reason is people don't work for free, they tend to have an angle if they say they will. eg. sell the work, or claim credit for all of it for self fame.

Those who are capable of making tools tend to sell them, those who are capable of reverse engineering, use it for themselves. eg, OmniWar my work, Not sharing, no one has proven worthy to get such detail.

However After beta7 is released I will likely release documentation on how various dat structures are so some people can at least play around with it and make tools. This will NOT make a server as good as OmniWar because OmniWar has literally had over a year's worth of work dumped into it. Work that many times exceeded 16hrs a day of strait work, including weekends. That is what it takes. That is why just about every pserv of Zero has closed doors except OmniWar. No one can handle the workload, no one wants to, it takes forever, and it doesn't pay anything. So unless people like working for free 16+ hours a day tearing a game apart to make it better, don't bother.

I have my own personal reasons for making OmniWar what it is with the goal of making it better than Official. It isn't money, the server eats every single dime, but Spite is what drives me and hatred goes a long way.

wow, i hate tq a large amount as well (im sure for other reasons than yourself) however i cant code so i am left with just bashing them in their own forums making them look stupid to whatever players view their forums. entertains me for a few minutes at least.

XD still a dream but a question =) will u join if i gathered at least 1coder??

boy i hope he wasnt asking me that question...... someone here needs to inform this individual as to who i am..... reading that over again almost kinda makes me sound like i am a badass, so just to let you know now, no i am not.

ok so all i saw from those posts is that even if we got 1 or 2 coders in a team other people won't join means those one will get out too .

i dont think he was talking to bob >.> hes already in a private server....

well the question was oriented about just joining to play the server, not the team. and just because bob owns omni it doesnt mean he cant play another server should one open.
