[Mod] Auctioneer Exploit

Many of you have seen and used guides based around auctioneer, enchantrix, btmscan, et cetera. One of the great things about so many people using these mods and guides is the ingrained qualities of those players. I would post this in the scam section if it were primarily an abuse of people's trust of other players, but it is, rather, an abuse of their trust in the Auctioneer and associated mods themselves.

Players who use the AuEnBtm mods generally want to play World of Wallstreet rather than kill mobs or some such, and they use these admittedly powerful tools to advise them on what to buy and what to sell, at what prices.

This is where the exploit comes in.

The setup takes about two weeks to four weeks but it works flawlessly and resets itself after another month. During its active period, this exploit will get you around 20-200g pure profit per lot and requires as little as 10g to set up.

Steps of the exploit:

1.) Find useless but relatively rare items on the Auction House, things that are in limited and decreasing supply yet are almost cheaper than level 35 food stacks. Buy ALL of the items which come up in your search for similar items for the next two weeks. These items can include ZG coins, Voodoo dolls, Librams of Rapidity, Fiery Cores, Ingots, et cetera. Things which were once very valuable and nearly never available on the AH that have become almost completely useless after TBC.

2.) Every day, and I cannot stress this enough, EVERY DAY, for the next two weeks, post these items at a massive markup. If you pay one gold for an item, mark it up to 20 gold. Then buy out all other postings of that item and repost them at the same markup.

3.) Come the end of the two week run, drop each item to half of the markup. In our example, drop your 20g inflated price to 10g. Do this for all your items.

4.) Let the gold start rolling in.

What happens is this:

The prospective buyer does a scan of the ah and his database is updated every day. After all, he wants to make gold from low buys and high sells. He automatically filters items which do not meet his profit margin, so they won't show up for him on BtmScan. After a 2 week run (14 day average from Auctioneer) you drop the price of your goods and they start popping up on BtmScan as great deals.

"omg lulz dis nub posted ZG coinz for teh 50% lololol"

So he buys them out, reposts, and gets stuck with a crateload of useless garbage while you reap the reward of his reliance on automated processes , instead of his own judgement.

This works on other items as well, but the more obscure it is and the cheaper the item, the better your profits and the chances they will be purchased unthinkingly.

Old? Really? I have never heard of this one specifically. Then again, Jitsuk tends to (probably) copy most of his posts from other sites, but that is not necessarily bad (imo). So yeah, this actually deserves a +thanks in my opinion. I have never seen the like, so it is relatively new and fresh.

LOL! Read again, the trick is that you use items that became worthless with TBC! So it could actually be quite new. (Although it exists since Auctioneer has existed :))
