Ive been using vb6 for a while and am using vb 2005 for the first time and this is pissing me off.i read i should use systemcom.net or somthing?
just anyone know how i can use winsock in vb.net
or explain what i need to do,before i give up on this .net framework and stick with my trusty vb6
if anyone has a simple source proxy in vb.net(2005)that i can see as a refrence it would be nice if you can upload a copy for me

ive been googleing for this for a while now just looking for somone who know and willing to help me a little
(P.S. im not a idiot, just stuck on this;))

Why use winsock for .net when there is System.Net.Sockets.Socket?

Your most likely going to want to use System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient. I haven't used .net in a long time so I can't write up an example but thats what you are going to be using. Look up that and callbacks for how to use.

You can still add the winsock control but there are lots of advantages to using .net sockets over winsock.

Anyways if you want to still add the control here is how.
