[Poll] Emulators ?

Hi,
I just need to know something and you need to know something if you don't know what im talking about :P

The emulators day by day are becoming better and better thanks to xSense, as the updates keeps growing the server becomes better, now the question is, let's imagine that MOST of the bugs of the emulators gets fixed not all bugs but the majority, the question is:

An emulator can support 2k players?

If you don't know the answer well then please stfu & gtfo :)

But that kind of emulator isn't created yet.

Current emulators can not support more than ~200-300 people. However, in 1-2 years we'll probably have emulators that can support 2k people.

depends on the language and what kind of server model you're using. C++ has a very efficient way which can handle a lot of clients which is called iocp which i am currently using and if the server would be efficient it could handle a lot. BUT there is a very important thing to make a server more scalable which is cluster server to spread the load.
in the case of silkroad you could make a login server and game server like any emulator but you could devide them underneath into a character server chat server, something for the ai. which will all run on different server so the calculations and processing will be done by different servers. if you have an good model with cluster server you could handle a lot and i mean a lot users with 1 server which the user sees but with a lot underneath them if you know what i mean.

but yeah 2k is possible even in C# but I would say go for C++ to make it handle that many clients

If you all will still support best coders by cracking thier work you will never have fully working emulator, capability doesnt matter. I am sure pax's prices are high only because idiots cracking his emulator, i remember when everyone was able to get pax's emulator for 15e..

Oke well if pax really is such a good coder he would have finished his emulator already and this thread isn't about good coder and insulting if someone is cracking his emultaor but about the capabilities of emulators so in this thread the capabilities DO matter:)

and mabye are pax prices high cause he just needed some more money:)

So why you are cracking his work dumbass? Because of peoples like you he didnt finished yet, and maybe he will never finish if everyone will still cracking. Who will make emulator then ? maybe you ?. and I didn't release the cracked version of his shitty emu because it doesn't even worth it to try it LOL xDDDD

oke well if he really is working for many years on that emu he's just a very slow coder and it would take him another 5 years to complete the emulator.

and who else will finish it well uuhm ever heard about srevolution? and there are some other people working on their own emulators so I guess you will see some new and better emulator:)

I think that the only srevolution might handle such amount of player in a while if there isn't coming a new emulator but I think that someone else will release some kind of emulator which could handle such amount of players in a few years

And you will host your server on 10 computers? 1 for chat , 1 for login , 1 for.......funny guy xD. Noone will make real server for free , if someone its unknow its mean he didnt started even close beta so stop bulshitting about "someone will make emulator, many peoples working on own emulator already". Hes talking about multiple processes, managers...
Which is just good, filter everything up to different managers to handle it really increases the performance, Why do you think .... Isro uses that many managers? in fact, they even use more then 1 computer for all those things, which IS even better..

LOL i said if you want to make your emulator support a lot of players like 5 or 6k or even a lot more you need something like a cluster server structure you can host all of those servers at 1 but that wouldn't support so many players...

and xsense didn't stopped he is just fixing a lot of bugs check out his twitter 1.3.4 will be released on tuesday.

and you don't know what i can do or not:S the only thing you are doing right now is trying to defend paxes ass which is a waste of time.
Oke my emulator isn't as advanced as paxes by far but I just started a few weeks ago so strange huh.
