Tricking the game into thinking you are on a different map, I do not see the usefulness of this, can someone clue me in?

Well, if you're in a timed map. And then you trick the game into thinking you're still in town, it might not send you back when the timer runs out.

(I don't play this game. Just a thought.)

That may work if you lock the map to where you are at, but changing the value and locking it you remove all npcs and portals, it's kinda odd, still playing around with it tryna figure out what usefulness could come of this ;)

well im guesing when time runs out a packets sent from client to server to request map change. Just find the code and change it to a NOP then bam.. never get kicked from time maps?

I don't have a char high enough to get into these places to find out :P but Its not too hard to find out if it works or not using ollydbg ^_^

All you have to do is change it to another map ID and you won't get ported out of a timed map. It's that simple. It works for all maps that you need time to enter. You can continue grinding for as long as you want, until you run out of pills or log out anyway.

Hilarious that so much of the map stuff is client side.
Seems only thing server uses maps for is to know where the monsters can walk and where items can drop. And to put players on.... But even then the X Z Y is sorted by client when going too maps unless its the first time your spawning on a new character or loading a map like that.

Super funny :D
