Using VMware to run 2 versions of 2moons

[step1]
Step 1: Software that is needed.

Ok this is a easy step for most of us :D you aren't a good cheater if you can't search so if you can't even search for this software beat it.

• 1. VMware Workstation 5.5.2

    You will also need a serial this is: R0WR4-KRLFA-DCNCC-4MAFP (if this one
    Doesn't work find your own ;))
  2. Next on the list is Windows XP. How to get this isn't hard. Go to any torrent site and just
  search or download it from usenet not that hard either. If there are enough people that
  request it I might upload it somewhere ;) .
  3. You also need the newest driver software for your graphics card. Commonly used are:

[step2]
Step2: Prepare your host computer for VMware Workstation.

Ok this is the first actual step that you will perform some things.
You have downloaded the newest driver in step 1.
Now it's time to install this driver.

After you have done this perform these steps to prepare a Windows 2000 or Windows XP host.
Make sure hardware acceleration is turned up in the display properties.
1. Right-click the desktop and choose Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot.
2. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider all the way to the Fullposition.

(I would love to post a screenshot but im dutch and so I use a dutch windows I know allot of people who play Maple Story are dutch but hey allot are not so if someone could provide me a couple of good screenshots for this step thanks allot)

That's all for step 2 not that hard.

Step 3: Install VMware Workstation.

This one cant be hard either you have now prepared your host system for VMware Workstation and it is time to install it.

Start the installation file and follow the steps most of it is clicking next in zombie mode not to hard.

Ok that was step 3 your done. just joking lets go to step 4

[step4]
Set up a new Virtual PC.

Ok now that you installed VMware Workstation you have to set up a new Virtual PC. Follow the steps in the screenshots to do this:

I have choosen for windows xp professional but you can also use windows xp home and windows 2000 workstation. (other windows systems wont work.)

If you see a screen that i havent posted it is unimportant what you can choose there and therefor you just have to click next when you see them :D .

Now on to step 5

Step 5: Install a Operating System on your newly made Virtual PC

Insert your installation disc of windows in your cd/dvd drive.
Select your newly made Virtual PC.
And click Start this virtual machine.
Make sure your working in the Virtual PC.
And press escape to go to the boot system.
There you have to choose *CD-ROM Drive*.
After that your windows installation will boot up.
This won't be to hard just follow the steps on your screen to install Wndows.
After you have installed Windows, shut down your Virtual PC and close VMware Workstation.

Now go to step 6.

Step 6: Change the Configuration file of your Virtual PC.

Ok in this step we are going change the Virtual PCs configuration file to enable the experimental 3D graphics card.

• 1] Open My Computer
  2] Go to Tools > Folder Options
  3] Select the View tab.
  4] Look for Hide Extensions for known File Types. (No need for scrolling)
  5] Disable Hide Extensions for known File Types and hit ok.

Go to c:\MSvirtual\ or any location that you stored your Virtual PC when you made it with the wizard.
There right click the .vmx file in my case that is Windows XP Professional.vmx .
(the .vmx file is always named to the operating system you have installed on your host system.)
And choose open with
Then you choose notepad and click on open.
Now insert the following lines after: nvram = "Windows XP Professional.nvram" :
After you did this save the file.
Then start VMware Workstation.
Go to Edit > preferences
Choose the tab: Input
Then deselect the option Ungrab when cursor leaves window..
Then press ok

Now your done with step 6.

Step 7: Install VMware tools on your Operating System of your Virtual PC

Now we are going back to the Virtual PCs operating system.

First boot your Virtual PC
Then after it has booted choose vm>install VMware Tools in the VMware Workstation.
Then choose Install
Now you will see that a installation program starts on your Virtual PC.
Choose next > select �complete� > next > install > finish
Then choose yes to reboot your Virtual PC.
After that install DirectX 9.0C
Do this by going to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
A windows validation is required.

just wondering, have u gotten this to work? this was originally posted for multi clienting maple story i believe (a directx 8 game), however ive tried this already and it does not seem to work for 2moons since 2moons requires directx9. although guide tells u to install directx9c and also allow hardware acceleration, it only seems to still support up to directx 8 games.

If u search on google u will be able to see that currently vmware fusion is the only virtual machine which can emulate and run directx 9 programs. However vmware fusion is for running windows on top of mac only.

1 way might be to first set up a mac environment with vmware and then set up vmware fusion inside of it. not sure if this work and i didnt bother to test this far.

just wondering if uve tested this and currently running 2 2moons at once.

I've not tested this, since I personally dislike the idea of wasting ram to run a game 2 times. If you go this far I personally believe your addicted to this game. But the only reason i posted this here is cause someone asked me about it on another forum and i see it here too.

and your right it was made for Maple story originally. If it does not work then Please say so, so i can remove all this data so people dont waste time.

i have 3GB ram and tried this, all i got was a black screen.

you'll need a very fast computer to get this to work, otherwise you will just suffer a whole lot of lag

vmware will work u just have to do settings etc. right and now what ur doing it is made to multi client more than just maple story and 2 moons and also stay with the updated version not the old version VMware Workstation 6.0.2 for Windows if u dont have a crack for it find one it isnt hard if u dont know how to find one then ummm why even bother doing anything? O.O

oh and as well when u are making the virtual windows dont forget to install the operating system and be sure u have a disk for it such as windows XP vista 98 2000 and so on or if u want linux other wise it will not work

defekt not true this pc is just 2gig ram dual core processor with 180 gig hard drive and i run it just fine now if u dont keep ur PC cleaned and let it get filled with trash then yea u wont beable to but other than that u should be fine

why crack? u can get it as a trial first for 30 days

CreeTar crack b/c 1 if u learn to use the program u would want to keep it for more than 30 days... and it takes less than 20 mins to find a crack for it... took me 1 min and for linux windows XP PRO took me about 3-5 mins along with linux and windows vista :) lol so take waitin 30 days b/c of laziness and then having to use rather than just finding it while u dl it? O.o

oh and also even if u found one why post it and spoon feed pple thats gettin to common for hacking forums thats the reason i keep over half of my stuff to myself instead of passin it around:P

well, 30 days... I'm sure people would like to use 2 2moons for more then 30 days.

This is worthless, just use two comps... and for those of u who dont have one go buy some crappy ass one. It dosent need to be good to set someone to follow.

lol worthless hmm many ways it isnt specially for pple who cant afford a crappy one and actually this does work very well i been using it for over a year with ALOT of games including 2moon... unless u cant figure it out or ur pc just plain fact sucks and cant run it properly =/

i tried it again today, and i cant even load the logon screen.
it's getting gray and the its closing and i'm back on my desktop.
i did everything like u wrote it.
