How to recover broken items?
Some players have asked about this possibility.

I actually had a friend ask about this earlier in the week, said something about OS having it. I pondered the thought and found it to be impossible without creating another sp that the ps_game.exe would use everytime a player would link/enchant an item. Seeing as this would be some work to have this small feature, I decided that it would be best to not have it. If I am wrong on how this information would be obtained through the sp, would someone please post on how it would? I'd like to know when I am wrong about these things. :)

Thanks

I've attempted this on several occasions as well. OS does have this and has for quite a long time. But it is not necessarily a sp used to do so. From what I understand from players that have used it, when filing the ticket for it, they are required to give EXACT information on the items stats, linked, enchants, etc...

Now this could be done just to compare and verify information with what Aeria has, however I doubt this. I honestly believe that they are merely recreating the items. Granted this leave room for serious fraud opportunity, but with Aeria, I wouldnt doubt it.

For giggles, I may load a dummy account one of these days and actually purchase the item recovery and see if I can scam it. If they actually created an item according to specs that didn't exist...well...guess we would know for sure xD

I understand this, the sp was merely to log the item because when the character is logged out, the item will be deleted from the database.

Easy enough to check from database backup's what a person had a what they did not before.

That is very tedious to do for something as simple as this.
I have been able to find out a simple way to recover items, i'll try and make an SQL script :D

It is easy to recover lost item. Everything a player does is recorded in PS_GameLog.dbo.ActionLog table. You only need to know Action Type associated to Enchant and perform a search. Then recreate the exact item in players inventory.
