NFS World Offline Developement Thread

01/23/2016 02:41 Benno4#1471
I've been working on car prices again. This time I've gone more for accessibility rather than special cars with high price tags. The game is offline now and there really isn't any need for the amount of grind we used to deal with, but just enough so we can feel like we're progressing through the game.

These are the prices I have. There are probably a few mistakes and I have not added these prices in game yet. If you are interested in using these prices in your own game, I'd love to get some feedback. I should have these in game and uploaded here within the next few days.
(I removed this spoiler list)

EDIT: I have completed my new car pricing! This will be known as version 1 for the time being as I plan to review the prices and update them in the future. I hope the community likes these prices more than my last attempt. These prices we're made more with the community in mind rather than for my own personal use.

The prices we're all altered slightly too, here is a list of the prices you will find in this release with basket numbers to easily identify cars if you feel like making your own car prices. (The "Y" is just a check I used when I added each price into the game).

Again, any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Will wait to Performance parts prices from you, to full pack :)

Wow, thanks for your work. I haven't tested it so far, but I will later. :)
Thank you guys for your work at the game. It's still nice to see some things that can't realise in 2011, but in 2016. That's really strange, but also natural, cause EA doesn't or won't work that hard on NFS World in the meantime.

Also there are rumors about the release date from NFS for PC. It says: May 2016. I hope that EA has made a better version than, cause they had enough time doing it. But otherwise NFS isn't worth the price from around 50 - 60 €. :)

Hope you guys are enjoying the new prices!

Although i've already found a few that I definately need to review. Hopefully the current prices are okay for the meantime. There should be a version 2 relatively soon but the process is very tedious. It gives me more respect for what the community does for the game as a whole because it's a lot of work and time consuming.

First part of server.

That code is so shit. Just look at Cars.cs, he does the same thing over and over again but never inlines it to a function, and not even only that, he also removes an existing row for a car and then re-adds it instead of doing what a normal personal would, call Push and update it. kek.

This material is gold right here, template definitions and non-logical code; no wonder he needed a high performance server. :D Mine can even run on a raspberry, kek. Additionally, he also parses everything as if it were a database but most of it all is still an xml.

I'm back with a updated car price list. I was unhappy with some of the pricing in the last release and it bothered me so I made a few adjustments. For example, the Bugatti is now the only car that is priced at $1,000,000 or above, no other cars exceed that amount.

This should be the last update for quite some time. Maybe I will look into it again once we see the next update for the server. Enjoy!

berkay2578 but when you have a stable offline server you will dedicate a online development?

You have asked this questions so many times, I had answered this already. Online is not relevant to the offline.

I have finished V3! (I know, 3 different versions on 1 page. Sorry about that) I know I said it would take longer but I put my mind to it and couldn't stop thinking about it until I finished it.

If you downloaded V1, I highly recommend you download this one because it has some major price changes when it comes to special cars. I'm proud of this one. It can be argued that the prices are still far from perfect but this now has many hours of work put into it. I hope that the community enjoys it. This should be the last major update to car prices. They're might be minor price changes in the future, but once you have V3 you should be set and won't really have to worry about downloading future versions. This also includes the Lamborghini Balboni Achievement Edition basket file thanks to GlideImage.

Note: Some special car prices went up but a lot of them wen't down. The prices we're based off the performance parts that the cars had equipped and some are higher price simply because they're not the stock car.

To Berkay and Glide, I've realised that my prices are now not proportional to their resell price. I think this was answered awhile ago but any clue on how to edit resell prices? I think that will be my next project if I'm able to do so.

Thanks!

EDIT: Was not expecting a response time like that! Thanks for the info, I'll look into it.

EDIT:: Ok, looks like it makes sense. I'll make the resell price 50% of all priced cars in my V3 version. I'd personally rather have it at 30% but I feel most people will be happier with 50%.

Basket files -> <ResellPrice>
Yes, that does mean that existing cars in your carslots will NOT get the new price unless you modify it there too.

So, if you wanna use price mods, you will use new profile?

I will adjust the sell prices to give 50% of the price you'd pay in the dealer. But you must have Car Prices by Benno V3 or else they will be out of place. When I finish changing resell prices, I will upload both my V3 car prices and the basket numbers together in an archive.
