I think you have the wrong resolution, because on mine everything's just fine. Use 1024x768 on your VM and on your game!

I was faced with the same problem, but you can fixed this by editing the config file. The necessary changes are marked in RED FONT

it gives you about 140 xp per 1 hour.

recent patch on the new referral system broke all the account creator programs.
only one that works is the website version but u need to donate to the developer.
