The latest was posted yesterday. There is nothing newer.

That sounds like an extraction issue. Or the saved variables are damaged.

But I will check the file tomorrow.

Or is it that people keep in downloading a whole directory for a file. While everyone else downloads the file.

I swapped to this from mediafire because for le it is way easier.

The version says 32939, so how did you install it?

Seeing people want to install on top of the other one and merge the old and new file and the wonder why there is issues.

First of all I want to drop a thank you for the constant support and updates.
Second of all, I would like to leave the suggestion to change the wording of your RXP-installation-step: "Extract guides to RXP folder and overwrite." and "Extract guides to addon folder." as it can lead to confusion and ultimately unnecessary time of your day to help them.
I did the error of importing the contents of the "Guides"-Folder into the RXP-Addon and not the Guides-Folder itself. Then I tried putting the Guides-Folder in normal Addon-Folder and eventually found the right way.
Maybe just specificly say to replace the Guides-FOLDER in RXP-ADDON-FOLDER (...\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\RXPGuides\Guid es) with the downloaded one.

Well the guides go in the folder of the addon.

Why would I say replace it?
If people replace my the original one. They lose every single free guide and not have the paid one.

People put it in the folder and overwrite. Then all guides are there. But people seem to use really complicated epic ui. But find it difficult to put a folder in another one.

I dont think its difficult, but you could make it easier and more clear. But go ahead and leave room for interpretation and get to bash people in this comment section about how dumb they and how generous you are.

Many on here have and so many are thankful for it. So what have you done?

So because people spend up to 16 or more hours. Claiming they cannot get something working. Blame my file.

All because they cannot download, add to folder. Download, add to folder and overwrite. But you want to be funny, so will it.

My friends 6 year old son, heard what to do. Did what was said and got it done. But others cannot?

But they can use complicated elv ui and weak auras. But cannot download 2 files and move to a folder. Really, no really?

The upload doesn't need to be updated because the guides don't actually change. When RXP gets updated what happens is that it deletes the folder that you've placed in it and replaces it with the "updated" version which makes it so that it only gives you the free guides instead of the one's you have to pay for as well. When it gets updated it's mostly just big fixes and updating the free guides. The paid guides don't change because they were made using the methods that speed runners were using for leveling, for Classic and Cata they won't change and for Retail it won't change unless there's a major overhaul of the leveling system.

Yes it does when the guides are updated. You can update the addon daily. But while would the guides be constantly updated if there are no changes?

Well you know what ain’t working? You saying why.

Here is an example. People install it before and never remove the files. Then they install it again and use old settings on a new file, then wonder why it dies not work.
When I said did they delete it? No. Will they? No. Have they? No? Then they wonder why the issue remains.

regarding the problems people are having with recent changes, i too am experiencing them and i think it's pretty simple what is happening. at some point the guides folder (the one hosted on downloads.ru) stopped containing some of the early game guides. many of the paid rxp guides that should be in that folder, are simply not. with the current configuration linked in the OP of this thread, the only useable guides start at levels 20/30+. there should be guides for stuff like levels 1-10 and 11-20, but they simply don't exist in the guides folder provided
i have tested this theory by having a friend who owns the official rxp guides send me his own Guides folder, and retained my own setup otherwise, and it works perfectly
so if you're tired of people complaining about stuff not working, i believe fixing this is all you need to do. thanks again

So it stopped hosting guides?
You get the same "Free" guides with the add-on.
So instead of me providing them, after you updated the addon and got the latest "Free" guides.
Why should I provide old "free" guides and then overwrite the "new" ones?

They are simply not the ones that are paid. I would love you to explain that claim please.
Seeing someone posted for 16 hours, every 10 minutes. Demanding there "paid" guides are not updated and they demanded they have a claim. When they posted their claim.The source was that the "Free" guides are updated and they chose not to update the addon to get them. Then complained they were not updated.

I am not sure if you are having a joke or not.

So you expect me to keep on updating the Free guides that you get with the addon? When you get them when you get the addon.

So you want me to take the guides out of the addon, and add them to my file? So you can add them back to the addon and overwrite the same guides. What would be the point of that? Really?

When you can update the addon, get the update guides at the same time. Then just add the paid content to it.

Oh, your friend sends you his own guides folder that has the "free" guides and no paid guides.
Seeing when he adds his guides through a string. The guides go to the saved variable of the addon and not the addon folder.

Oh, why are people complaining? They refuse to follow the instructions. They take the file, and say nothing. When they cannot get what they want, then they complain. When they can get what they want, then they say nothing.

Here is a point

Did people have the addon before, Yes. Do they say that they did? No. When asked, do they say they did? No. They say they removed the addon, did they? No. How so? Well, they chose to leave the saved variables for the addon. When told to delete them, do they? No. Make that part easier for you. Ever installed software and then kept the old settings? Then it would not run because you refused to delete the old settings. That is what happens.

Another reason, intentionally choosing to use the wrong or incompatible software and wondering why it does not extract when 7zip is free.

Another thing, the addon and wtf folders were damaged. So what would you do if something did not work? You remove it. What do people do? They keep it.

Seriously how hard is this?

Had the addon before, delete the addon and savedvariables
Run the game
use curseforge updater to install the addon
/reload
Download and extract the guides to 7zip and extract to the addons/rxp folder
/reload

That's it, but people find that impossible.

Oh a positive not @[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] pointed out that my file had old free guides. So people installing it would overwrite the free guides they have. So me removing that and providing paid content. When someone updates, they have the latest free guides and then add the paid content to that. Great for everyone, but you say that is wrong?

There is definitely some confusion about the RXP Guide. What I've discovered:

1. The recent versions of RXP throw LUA errors with the .rar provided here. The solution is to download a slightly older version of RXP through Curse Forge. I downloaded the version from 12/3/24 and it is working fine.
2. As Sky has said - do not delete the Guides folder. Just copy the version from the .rar and overwrite it.

I didn't need to delete variables or anything. Just needed to roll back to a slightly older version of the guide through Curse Forge.

Problem solved.
