Bringing up isro's gm's is pretty much irrelevent here. Hardly anyone remembers them, and the last time i saw one, was at 70 cap, when gm ladyasia actually banned people in the penon area.... that was years ago. People make claims that the gm team here is corrupt, but i have not personnally witnessed "corruption". Yeah, their attitudes are lame, and you can tell they lack humor and are easily frustrated with the small things, but its hardly the gm's to blame. Heres why:
1. Lack of forum support:
If they had a clean forum (my god, its destroyed by spam) they could hire mods to monitor them. When people have a problem, they post on the forum, the mods contact the gm's, gm's handle it. This way, gm's dont have to give out their personal email's or skype to every single player in the entire server. Right now, gm's just log on and say "tell me your problems in global chat" which is a pretty stupid method to handle things (starts a spamfest, and people without globals are unable to get help). Also, put the forum on another server entirely, one that is unlinked to the gameserver, so incase the game server goes down, people can still visit the forum for news, and discussion as to why its going down. Elitepvpers shouldnt be the place where people have to ask why the server is down.
2. Ammendment of rules:
It's safe to say, silkroad at its best, will be known as an international game. English is one of the youngest languages, and many other cultures play the game (some of which know very little english). There is nothing wrong with non-english chat in world chat. Hell, if your german, and you want to recruit german people to your guild, wouldnt common sense dictate that you speak german to do so? If you cant understand them, ignore them. It's not hard.
Another fact that annoys me... the rules are only in english. You people complain when "others cant listen or follow the rules" but your own ignorance has made it impossible for them to adhere to them. Sure, they can translate the page, but its your job as developers to make it easier on the consumer, regardless of how much effort it requires from you.
3. Ignorance:
Players, at times, often dont understand the way things work. When they get greedy, and fail +12 or something stupid, they blame the gm's, as if the gm's have control of alchemy rates. They do not. Infact, gm's have so little control of the actual server, you would be quite suprised. Alchemy is determined via rates set only by server sided configs, nothing the gm's can touch (unless the admin gives his gm root access to the server via putty or something, and if so, i would be truely worried). Dont blame the gm's for your greed, alchemy is a bitch, and never + a weapon your not willing to lose.
It's safe to say the gm's here tend to have terrible attitudes, but it goes both ways. As a former developer, i understand how frustrating it is (you think this is bad? try dealing with perfect world players), but at the same time, you cant bitch around your players (if they think you hate your job, they will fear you, and fear is a very bad thing). Rather than ban players that get on your nerves, or insult them, tell them to have a nice day, and move on. If you are unable to help them, have them post on the forum and tell them someone will help them when they can.
